March 31, 2024 - From a magnum also alongside a 2009 two acre magnum for Easter with whole roasted lamb. Light in color compared to the 2009. Sweet ripe cherry fruit and nice spice. Medium bodied and got better in the glass.

November 30, 2022 - Caught this in the perfect place tonight. Can’t believe how well this 15 yr old wine has evolved. Just delicious.

January 23, 2022 - The color is deep purple with a brick-colored rim. Primary fruit has faded. What remains is a nose of raisin, mint, and spice. The mouth is prune, pepper, coco, and red candied fruit. Tannins are fully integrated, the body is medium to full and overall enjoyable.
Drink now as this wine is on the downward side.1 person found this helpful Comment -

October 17, 2021 - This needs at least an hour of air. The nose is fantastic on opening but the wine was thin and didn’t balance well… fast forward to an hour and the balance was near perfection. Tannins and acidity were balanced with wonderful layers of fruit and secondary notes all shining in their own dimensions. Last glass was the best so even more airtime would undoubtedly help.

April 25, 2021 - Another one that was on the "probably waited too long" rack - and it was drinking wonderfully, and sure seemed to have plenty of life left to me. I put a little in the blackberry sauce for the elk loin, and it worked well for that, but it probably wasn't the best match for the resultant dinner. It was a great match, though, for the remnant of ash goat cheese leftover from someone's contribution to a small dinner party a few weeks back. This was my last bottle, but this has been a really solid, reliable wine ...
