I was very pleasantly surprised at how well this was drinking. This Walla Walla version of a Super Tuscan (50% Sangiovese, 50% Cab) combines the lovely fruit found in the winery's baseline Sangio with the extra gravitas found in their straight cabs. Also retains enough acidity to pair well with tomato-based sauces.

On the light side but appropriate flavor profile for the varietal. Good weekday accompaniment to light Italian fare. However, there are many better values in a sub $20 Chianti.

Easy quaffer with pizza or pasta but overly simplistic. At this price point there are much better values in a Chianti or Rosso di Montalcino.

Benefitted from a 3+ hour decant. Lovely combination of voluptuous Merlot fruit with a strong sense of Tuscan terroir. Like a New World wine but with added complexity after a semester abroad!

Not an Old World Sangio by any stretch, yet very enjoyable with or without food. Typically great QPR from Walla Walla Vintners - great value without unnecessary flash.

Drank beautifully after a one hour decant. A marriage made in heaven with an aged, grilled NY Strip. Great fruit paired with plenty of grip.

Consistent with other comments. Drinking well at this point. Just a hint of sweetness in the cherry notes paired with the dustiness of the Sangiovese.

Needs some time to open up but a great QPR. Also had a fair amount of sediment.

Lithe, elegant and sensual in its attack, it transformed over the course of 4+ hours, displaying stunning complexity and a range of flavors.

I would echo the comments of johnnyo and Eric. After decanting for an hour, it opened up beautifully.

Still enjoyable although a bit past its prime. Fruit has lost some vibrancy, but the wine is holding its structure very well. Opened up nicely over the course of an hour.

Still drinking well. Voluptuous black fruits with a consistent element of tar/tobacco from the nose through the mid-palate. Long finish.

Great acidity for pairing with Mediterranean dishes. Should benefit from a bit more cellar time.

Pleasant all-around drinker. Modest, not a big, jammy Washington Syrah.
