I was really disappointed with this bottle beyond the smoke discussion; it was dull, medium bodied with some fruit and spice but no depth; nothing like a CDP, more like a cote du Rhône frankly. And not at the level of other Pott wines.

These chardonnays are awesome exactly three years old. Right up my alley with lemon curd and oil, ginger spice and creamy texture.

Drinking well with notes of mocha and plums and nice lengthy finish, done in an elegant style and certainly not over the top but hardly a 100 pointer. A victim of its own success. The increasing price point is a deterrant from enjoying future vintages.
