Lovely German reisling. Not as textural as an Alsatian, but lovely clean lemon/lime fruit, with a hint of wet slate. Nice finish, with the residual sugar coming to the fore on the aftertaste.

It was okay. Has been well cellared, and was holding up. Definitely fading, but didn't go down the sink.

Great old Cabernet, which has stood up to the years exceptionally well. Still has primary fruit, with an overlay of mellow leather. Performs well above the purchase price (though the current release price is hugely inflated compared to the original $15 price).

At current prices, it’s a good wine, but no bargain.

Great CdP. Medium/full bodied. Pours clear. Licorice, plum, berry nose. On the palate, red berries, red jubes and some gentle spiciness (more cinnamon and baking spices than anything else). I don't recall the price I paid, but I suspect great QPR.

Really solid showing from a 22 year old cabernet. Lots of clean, pure cabernet characters, both on the nose and palate. Some herbaceous aromas, without being green or stalky. Similarly, blackcurrant and cassis on the palate.

Adequate, but not exciting. I suspect this producer gets the fruit that doesn't go into the better Baroli. It's another bottle of okay.... I'm not certain we finished it.

Heavy crust, pours clear. Usual Jasper Hill nose of blackberry and musk. On the palate, more musk, with redcurrants, berries and some beef stock.

Very Rhone in style. Pours clear. Spicy nose (white pepper and sage), with a palate of blackcurrant, blackberry and pepper. Nice strong acidic backbone.

Classic Grenache. Raspberries, on the nose, on the palate. Tannins were incredibly soft (as expected), but fruit was still right up in the forefront.

I suspect a little beyond its prime. The nose was a bit subdued, as was the palate. Typical musk and red berries were there, just turned down somewhat.

Heavy crust. Almost treacly nose, with leather and roses as an undercurrent. The sweetness was also there on the palate, much more so than most Baroli. Still very enjoyable wine, which would win many converts to Barolo.

Classic Heathcote shiraz, with a bit of an edge from the small proportion of cabernet franc. Roses and musk on the nose, more of the same on the palate, but with a slight minerality that really cleans the palate and leaves me wishing for more.

Lovely wine. Toasty nose, with a hint of citrus and talc. On the palate, lime, wet slate, ginger and lychee. A beautiful aged riesling.

Classic aged cabernet. Cassis and cedar on the nose, blackberry fruit and leather on the palate. Super wine for a lower cost, 22 year old cabernet.

Smells like Cabernet. Tastes like cabernet. Ticks all the boxes. More body than the average Coonawarra cabernet, but beautiful balance. Drinking beautifully at 12 years age.

Really liked this wine. So reminiscent of a good Amarone. Fruit cake, all spice, a hint of leather. All there, and still full of life after 19 years.

Just coming into a very long drinking window. Tannins, fruit and oak coming together. Very dense purple colour, nose of plums, oak and baking spices. Very long palate of sour(ish) plums, jubes, Turkish delight. One of the best reasons to drink Barossa shiraz.

Last bottle. Opened more lively than the others recently drunk, with a more effusive mousse. A little thinner on the palate, but still nice fruit.

Drank at 13 years age. Opened with good fruity aromas. Poured clear. On the nose, leather/cherries/mineral notes. On the palate, more sour cherries/a hint of Turkish delight/long gentle acid finish.

When first opened, didn't have much on the nose, and actually seemed likely to be faulty. Poured clear, slightly browned. With times (~2-3 hours) bad smells blew off, revealing sour cherries and wet earth aromas. More sour cherries on the palate, with rhubarb and a hint of marzipan. Lovely balancing acidity.

Absolute kaleidoscope of flavours. The nose of was raisins and plums. Palate was a long, lingering spectrum of flavours, with gingerbread, fruitcake,
nutmeg, coffee and more. Incredible wine!

A little tired. Faded quickly one the bottle had been opened. Younger bottles of this vintage were magnificent.
