Beautiful wine, resolved tannin, dark fruit, five spice on the nose and finish. Not a ton of distinguishable secondary development, but highly enjoyable nonetheless.

incredibly alive. bright red fruit & juicy acidity, perfumed nose. only some secondary characteristics evident, mostly in the finish. if they are stored well, worth seeking.

spectacular representation of pauillac, full throttle but in perfect balance

getting a little tired, but this wine was super satisfying with weeknight delivery. a couple days later it held up, and might have been a touch better. decidedly old world in style, these Bonaccorsi wines are becoming some of my favorites, amazing QPR.

drinking great, perfectly balanced after ~1hr decant. i'd guess this still has 5ish years at its peak.

of all of the 'old-world' / 'old school' aged california cabernets that i've tried (la jota, Dunn, Montelena, Togni, etc) this bottle of Rafanelli might have been the best. very present fruit, yet still bright, vibrant, & restrained. beautiful secondary elements of cassis, vanilla, clove. the biggest problem with this wine is I don't have more of it.

ridiculously good burg. warmth of the vintage comes through very clearly (still), with ripe red fruit, and a long finish. acidity and bottle age keep it in perfect balance, but for new world pinot drinkers, this might be a revelation.

opened with the slightest bit of astringency, but with about an hour of air evolved into being beautifully ripe yet not overly extracted. red fruit, cocoa, violets

If you can still find it, absurd QPR. Have experienced some bottle variation, but the one I opened tonight was rocking.

Remarkably good expression of Barolo, huge scented nose redolent of red fruit, roses and cigar. Mouthfeel was weighty yet not overpowering. And the finish was longer than a Babe Ruth homer. Can’t imagine it getting better but has plenty of years to go.

floral, elegant, a little grippy. drinking extraordinarily well this young after a multiple hour decant. this is a special wine, from very special terroir in Barbaresco, Roncagliette (e.g. Gaja's Sori Tildin).

At 23 years this bottle was still full throttle in your face Napa cab. Rich fruit, but the bottle age has put it perfect harmony. It’s in the perfect drinking window, so if you have it drink it!
