There was not much at all in the glass, only slightly more on the nose. Was this too old perhaps? I was disappointed and surprised.

Not as intense as a good condrieu, but has those similar stone fruit and almond notes.

Hearty medium body, fruit that stays away from the “candied” flavors, savory. No funk at all. This a a great sipper but also with food, as it is not a light or shy rosé

This is light in body and light in color. What I love most is the sage and other savory notes. There is fruit but it isn’t super juicy. This is a winner.

Had funk on it which I did t care for

This was dark yellow. Bruised apple on the palate and on the nose. Is it supposed to be like this?

Doesn’t have the intensity of New Zealand, nor the grassiness of Sancerre. It is fine for a weeknight wine, but I could probably do a little better for a little higher price.

It’s fine. No rating because while I think it is a well made wine, I don’t think this grape is my fav. Low acid without other elements to lift it. It is savory without being saline. Not particularly aromatic

Was this flawed? I don’t think so. On the nose was lumberyard. on the palate there was zero fruit, grippy tannins and sharp acid. That’s it. It went down the sink.
This shouldn’t be over the hill for this wine, but perhaps there used to be fruit?

Screaming intensity and yet the intensity was not from fruit. Spice? Minerality? It is well balanced and zippy. Glorious.

Nose is vibrant indeed as noted in other comments. Nectarine, some tropical notes and salinity/minerality. Finish is a bit abrupt but a very enjoyable glass. Serve with poulet mafé yaaaaaas

Too bad South Africa has embroiled itself in idiotic claims at the UN. Can’t support this country until it’s head is back on straight.

Other comments spot on. Delicious with grilled lemony swordfish with green olives on fresh pasta. This wine has decent body. Well balanced.

Fruit starting to mute while secondaries starting to reveal. Well balanced with fine tannin. The delicate spice from the wood paired beautifully with the cinnamon of our kibbe

Stewed fruit, cocoa. Fine tannins. Even better night 2

Has typical characteristics of PN including some funk that is not my “jam”. Not poorly made, just not my fav.

Medium to heavy mouth feel for a white. Acid medium/low, and wow on the floral character! Long finish.

I can’t believe this is the same grape as Pinot Grigio! There is some sweetness on this wine which I didn’t expect. Dark golden color. Great pairing with spice. Baked yellow apple. Lingering finish

Compared to champagne, it’s darker, heavier, fruitier, less acidic, less bready. Is it fair to compare all sparklers to champagne? Baked yellow apple and not a lively mousse. Paired nicely with a spicy coconut fish dish.

Tannins super interesting. Quite present yet also fine. Fruit is dark and not at all jammy. Another comment here mentioned menthol, which I thought was rather odd, but after tasting I totally understood that. Definitely a food wine. Served with short rib ragu on gnocchi.

This didn’t resemble any viognier that I have had. It was boring and without character. It had no objectionable characteristics

I think I need to add this one to my list of favorite go to’s. Not wanting to add wordiiness to all of these fine reviews, I will chime in to say dark fruit yet with acid and very fine tenants in a long finish. Bravo.

I was concerned that this would be over the hill, but NOPE. Retains the Syrah character well. Get dark fruit and leather but enough acid for good balance. Tannins still pronounced.

Don’t get the searing fruit of condrieu but did get floral notes and lots of nuttiness. Slight bitter finish that compliments salty herbaceous food. Very nice

Great on opening, and glorious day 2. Dark cherry fruit with vanilla. Oak is right there but doesn’t hit like a 2x4 for some reason.

This wine will have a spot in our wine rotation. Fruit forward, but not pushy, with earthy notes. Body is medium and heavier than I expected. Tannins and acid is balanced and muted

The earth on the nose, for me, tipped into Bret category. It wasn’t quite as strong on the palate. I was hoping it would blow off, but it did not. There were other elements I enjoyed.

Was something wrong with my bottle? I know this is a good producer, and I like shiraz! There was nothing here but acid. I tried over two days.

I think we consumed this a little early. Dark fruit, balanced. Not much happening mid palate. We’ll try again over the course of a couple days.

Such great QPR! Off dry with a bit of petrol. Acid balances the sweetness nicely. This was enjoyed with a Chinese chicken with cayenne dish.

Quite herbaceous on the nose. The palate was a wee bit tart. I would like to try this selection with some age on it. Limes and tropical fruit.

This is a keeper. Fresh pear and minerality. There is a creamy mouth feel, but no toasted oak flavors or aromas and definitely not buttery. Enough to make your front, mid palate and finish happy!

Lots of earth on the nose. It really is the first impression. Mouth feel is light. High acid without tartness. Is there a touch of sweetness? Maybe. Better with food than a stand alone.
Next night? Nothing left but acid.

Very interesting Chardonnay. Frankly, doesn’t taste much like Chardonnay at all! wine searcher says it’s a blend of Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc, but the text sheet says 100% Chardonnay. Who to believe? All I know is that it’s delicious. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a blend, though. Maybe the unusual flavors come from sitting on lees.Something gave it that extra nutty zip.
