After emailing with the Vineyard it turns out that all of the remaining bottles in this vintage were damaged as a result of the type of cork used.

Amazingly, the Vineyard acknowledged the issue was their responsibility and going to address it, so I may yet get to enjoy some delicious chablis.

Ended up having to open two bottles as the first had turned. We knew, the minute it was opened from the scent emanating from the bottle, quite sad to tip it.

2nd bottle was drinkable but equally felt it was close.

7 remaining,m all in the eurocaves and I hope that haven't turned.

We had two over dinner last night with friends. Decanted both and was surprised by the colour, in that they werent as deep as I thought they would be. Both were very smooth and they reminded me more of Burgundian pinot, which was a pleasant surprise.

Had a bottle with dinner tonight and I was surprised at the depth of colour and the spice that I tasted. I'm looking forward to the other 11 bottles!

After decanting for about two hours I get toffee on the nose and the first sip gives me blackberries. Its held up very well in the fridges and after two ages my half of the decanter is doing well.

Lets see how the other half is tomorrow
