Smooth and ice tea and more smoky than the usual fruit bomb. However 16.7% alcohol making itself felt towards the end.

Love the salinity in this wine, beautiful sharpness and brightness compared to Chablis or Cali Chardonnay. Love it with oysters.

Decanted for an hour accompanying skirt steak. Could still use some more time in the cellar as tannins are still quite pronounced.

Had this bottle at Hawksmoor in London and was pleasantly surprised with its showing after 27 years. Brownish tinge when it was decanted looked like things could go either way, but was just fine on the nose. Nicely softened tannins but still enough to make it work with steak. Pleasing earthy pine notes as well. Was still strong after couple of hours in the decanter.

Found this hiding in our cellar. Amazingly still drinkable with mushroom truffle notes like an expensive Sauternes

Not a standalone wine - definitely wine. Goes well with slightly Asian-y flavors balanced between acid and sweet. Somewhat light with almost no bouquet. But stands up well to foods it matches with. Not great with chicken. Enjoyable but simple.

Actually somewhat corked. Cork was in good condition. But the flavors are definitely reflecting a corkedness. It wasn't bad initially but is getting worse with airing out.
