White
A powerhouse - pear, saline, flint. A real beauty.
White - Sparkling
Saline, nuttiness, and a hint of brioche. Very nice and well made but perhaps lacked some power of other vintages(?)

Very good wine. Blueberries, black tea, gentle oak, and a herbaceous element. Medium bodied, and fairly gentle tannins. Really nice, early drinking style.

I’d say this is still alive, I can imagine that in its peak it’d be a powerful wine. Still very good, quite a bit of fruit - dark cherry and a weight to it that is akin to a Central Otago wine, there is a richness supported by the alcohol, and this is noticeable after 90mins or so as it started to fall apart by then and the alcohol began to dominate.

Seemed very grassy, but balanced out after a while

Very good. Whole bunch, dark fruits, pepper. Medium bodied, almost classic.
Red
Medium bodied, medium acid. Black cherry, smoky blueberries, slight graphite, bacon fat, licorice, stalky tannins: 94. Day 2 - Rose, an echo of raspberry, and charcoal or pleasant burnt toast. An element of pinosity to this - upped to 95.

All arms & legs. Not a bad wine, but disjointed. Blue fruits - plums mostly, ripe. Heavy oak usage resulting in vanillin dominance. The alcohol is high, which combined with vibrant acid makes for a bit of a wild ride.
Red
Browning with a faded rim but hanging on. Dried cherry, a hint of raisin, thyme, and tar. Still some acid and tannins that glide. End of life, but a great wine.
Red
Still trying to wrap my head around this one. Light-medium bodied. Feels unusual, perhaps a touch rustic. Dark cherry, a touch of raspberry, grenadine. A hint of spice. Long finish.

Well made, but alcohol seems to dominate. Only 13.1% but seems heavy on the nose. Mascerated strawberries and an aspect of green fruit(?), gentle spiciness.
Orange
Very interesting, like a cider or Hefeweizen. Funky but fruity with a herbal edge. Passionfruit and lemon skin.
Red
Rich, wonderful balance of tannin, acidity, round blue fruit. Very very good.

Flashes of brilliance, but stays a good but inconsistent wine. Savoury and red fruited. Raspberry and a hint of plum, but there is a vegetal note and a bit of capsicum. At its best after being open for an hour or so, I capped it and stored in the fridge, but much more savoury on day 2. Feel like this has the bones of something great and we may be looking at one of the next great Tassie producers.

A nice wine, not overly complex but very good and well made. Blue fruit, with smooth round tannins and medium body, almost creamy mouthfeel.

On opening had a strange smell to it (reminiscent of blue cheese), though this “blew off” after 10mins or so. First day of drinking was fairly good but not what I expected of JC. However after 48h of the remaining half of a bottle sitting in the fridge and being exposed to oxygen…wow this really opened up. Beautiful light Cabernet; stemmy blackberry and marinated raspberry, an edge of menthol, very well balanced.

Beautiful red fruit and supremely balanced. Gentle. Still a number of years left in this, amazing to consider it’s over 10 years old.

Wow, this is serious. The best Australian Pinot I’ve had for a while, mid-weight with dark fruits and brooding spice.

Light, almost ethereal Pinot. Delicate but in a good way, perhaps could use more time in the glass than I gave it, but it’s bright and balanced acid. Sumac stands out from memory as a tasting note, alongside sour cherry.

No doubt past its peak, but a quality wine nonetheless. Acidity is still present, not overly rich, but mature dried fruit character and a great complement and finish to a Christmas dinner.

Powerhouse, wonderful sparkling Shiraz. I’ve not had many, but this was stunning — beautifully balanced, ripe and full without being over the top.

Mind boggling wine, on the crazy spectrum. Hard to place. Caramelised apricot; orange rind; tending to toffee and a scotch aspect. Nutty and saline. Complexity above all. This is an interesting and contemplative wine.

Sweet nose, not especially fruity - but a cola and herbal note, very light jam aspect (like jam cooking in the pan). Nice on the palate raspberry and plum with rounded tannins.

Still alive (perhaps surprisingly), primary fruit has naturally died away. Left with a rich (14%) brandied fruit Pinot (still recognisably so) — the Christmas pudding nature is almost maraschino in character. Nostalgic number, found by accident.

Hint of capsicum early, but given a decant and consumed across 4.5h. Green strawberries that tended towards blackberries as it opened. Peppery and savoury. Hint of charcuterie. Very light (11.6%), atypical and wonderful.

Very good wine, strawberries and a herbal nature. Quite pronounced tannin, could use a decant and took a while to open up.
