April 23, 2022 - 94/06. Lots of herbiness in the aromas. The palate was pure pleasure so much fruit concentration yet hardly any weight. Still holding some in reserve but a treat now.

April 23, 2022 - Sangiovese study (Chicago, IL): Slightly herbal/medicinal on the nose, with a cherry note that seems a little more cough-syrupy than I would have liked. On the palate, this is consistent with more of the medicinal/cough-syrup note. What's fantastic here is the texture of the wine -- while I've been saying plenty of the other wines had silky textures, this really took it up a notch. Others at the table liked this more than I did.

April 29, 2019 - Had a small glass. Earthy, modest leathery, tar, violet, and lightly roasted herbal on the nose, on the palate, it was mineral and gentle seductive texture, offered lingering acidity and chewy tannin, texture was silky and round. On the other hand, It was deeper and presented higher level of earthiness and leather sensation than the recent vintages of Soldera.

April 20, 2019 - ever changing in glass. emotional wine. greatness.

November 2, 2018 - Opened and decanted an hour. Could have easily taken hours more air as this only got better over 2-3 hour dinner. Layered and complex. Nuanced yet powerful. Rose pedals, tobacco, some leather, candy cherries. Definitely a wine to sit and think about. Great now and there is definitely upside here.
