December 16, 2022 - Initially a little funk, blew off quickly to reveal leather, dark cherry, and a touch of wood. Palate of tart cherry, coffee, touch of cassis and cedar. Nice mid palate tannins still popping though but finely integrated. Lingering finish invites another sip. Really surprised but this wine. Very enjoyable.

February 6, 2018 - Cedar, old saddle leather, blackberry, black currant, black cherry, red cherry, pencil lead and nice, prominent acid. After 2 hours some plum appeared. Medium finish. Very nice.

May 7, 2016 - Regular dinner group (@ EM): Garnet red brown color. Beautiful and mature bouquet with cigar box, smoke, earth and sweet spices like cinnamon. On the palate a full bodied and mature wine with chocolate, vanilla and some smoke. Good acidity and soft tannin. The wine is beautiful and fully mature now.

February 13, 2015 - Chocolate, forest floor and mould, tobacco, leather, resolved tannins, very nice.

December 30, 2013 - Wow, wow, wow what a nice wine this is. Fully mature and resolved, but it seems it may hold for 2 or 3 more years. Purchased from a store via private cellar acquisition, this had a bottom neck fill and a pristine cork, so provenance was excellent. It does behave as a merlot-based wine should, but carries some cab character as well, interestingly enough.

Beautiful tobacco and leather, graphite, mushroom with some underbrush and a bit of oak roll over smooth resolved tannins. Complex and very enjoyable with solid underlying acidity and still-ample fruit, this medium(+) bodied beauty should drink well for 2-3 more years, though it is fully mature now.
