October 24, 2019 - Wine Tandems Night (Sets of Mini-Verticals) (The Grand Room at Industrial Eats, Buellton, CA): Impressively fresh and energetic, with compact notes of tart red fruit, some pepper and a touch of oak. Patience rewarded, though no rush.

September 19, 2014 - Popped for International Grenache day, didn't even know there was a day but I celebrate it about once a month.
I've had these buried in the closet because I didn't want to open them too early and I'm glad I waited, they're starting to blossom.
Very dark in color, showing as youthful. The fruit profile on the palate and nose is distinctly dark blackberry like the kind I would pick as a kid, good memories flooding back. The wine is still framed by significant structure of maturing tannins and acidity filled with the blackberry, white pepper, sage, and dried brush. I only decanted this for an hour but I'm sure it would benefit from more air but there won't be any left after the gang figures this one out. -

September 8, 2014 - -- cracked and poured --
-- tasted non-blind over approx. 3 hours --
NOSE: ripe red & purple berries; not funky; bit of a tart or high-toned aspect --- maybe alcohol?; pretty straightforward; a bit red berry jammy after a couple hours open.
BODY: ruby-violet color of medium to medium-deep depth; medium bodied.
TASTE: ripe boysenberry and blackberry; a cherry note presents itself on some sips, too; very fine tannins grip the front and mid palates; medium acidity; hint of dried herbs on the finish, which is of medium to medium-strong intensity; still seems young; paired very nicely with braised beef roast; 14.9% alc. was initially well-hidden, but did become noticeable after a couple hours open; medium complexity; better with food than without; slight hint of leather after approx. 2.5 hours. Drink now - 2016.

June 16, 2014 - Still drinking very well. Nice fruit, mostly sweet raspberry. Some smoke and wood, and a little pepper. Nice acidity. Medium weight. Drank over 3 nights with little change.
