December 25, 2023 - Absolutely devine! Matured yet with freshness and good energy. Complex and so gulpable. Great champagne that is at point now.

September 22, 2022 - 100% Pinot Meunier, 1300 bottles from old vines planted in 1952. No disgorgement date.

The color has a very amber color.

The nose is also very evolved, on cinnamon and burnt sugar.

The mouth is rich, the solar vintage is immediately perceptible. The attack is powerful, with ubiquitous cinnamon and dark fruits in the background. The wine appears as already very evolved, with a relatively low acidity but the balance is preserved. The wine tends to fade a little after a powerful attack, ending with a decent but somewhat weak finish for a demanding public.

Very good champagne, but I was surprised by its advanced evolution. Blind, I would have said without hesitation 1999 but never 2009. This vintage was never presented as being of great keeping, but rather the ideal companion to wisely reach the 2008.

September 29, 2019 - Late night MingHin (Chicago, IL): Love this stuff; and the riper vintage for the growers makes this work even better. A good amount of meunier funk here, with just a slight hint of red berries and a fair dose of earthy mushrooms. The palate is quite thick and rich, and there's a sweetness and breadth that balances the higher acidity.

December 21, 2018 - Les Barres vertical for 冬至 (Chicago, IL): In a word, awesome. I've really loved how all the grower 2009s have turned out. The riper vintage really gives lots of balance to a style that I think is generally too lean (Chartogne-Taillet is an exception to that though). There's tons of intensity to this wine -- lots of delicious sweet fruit that is nicely balanced by the acids. Great complexity, and with air, this actually picked up some really delicious autolytic biscuity notes. Fantastic champagne -- I'm so glad I went deep on this vintage.

December 11, 2017 - Presenting sweeter than the 06 served beside it - some apple, yeasty and deep and golden, minerals. More apple on palate. A bit more focused and crisp than the 06 but doesn’t have anywhere near the depth or breadth. Apple and brown spice finish. Excellent. Nose - 5-5.5/6, Palate - 5/6, Finish - 5/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 1-1.5/2 = 16-17/20.
