May 9, 2013 - Opaque blackish purple. Fruity, leathery nose.Opened one hour prior to tasting. A bit vegetal and the thinness in the mid palate dominates this bottle. Pencil box, plums and cherries. Short finish. Not inspiring this day.

March 23, 2013 - Dark purple red. Nose is intense; Plums, tobacco. Notes are from day 2 and wine really improved with air. Lacks complexity, strong tannins ("Grip" is a good word for this, oeno), tightly wound core but lacking depth and finish. Good QPR but missing depth in the middle. Medium finish.

December 15, 2011 - Routinely gets decent critical reviews for the price range, so we decided to try this at a local Italian restaurant on a random Wednesday night. Fairly dark colored, the nose was not particularly interesting: A little strawberry, a little raspberry, not much in the way of secondary notes. The palate was light bodied with tart red fruit and very little depth. The acidity was good, and the alcohol wasn't prominent, but there was no finish to speak of and very little in the way of structure. In the end, it fit the occasion: A weekday wine to quaff with a meal. Fine, but entirely forgettable.
