  September 19, 2019 - 90: A complex bouquet with hints of berries and spice. Very smooth right out of the bottle. Unexpectedly detailed palate, mostly as expected but with a few added flavors, with mild tannins that build to a pleasant finish. Just a hint of smoky terroir sneaks through. This probably would have been at least as good a few years from now, but it made for a memorable evening anyway. Cork showed signs of deterioration and there was a lot of sediment, but neither detracted from the beauty of this wine.

  April 5, 2019 - Still a baby. Showing floral notes at opening and a weighty palate continued to develop over three nights to a point of integration. Experience with this wine has shown me that 15 years rewards the patient.

  March 29, 2016 - Still very bark and brooding with punchy tannins and shy fruit. Aromatics are nice with floral notes. Still developing.

  May 10, 2013 - This had a tight and reserved bouquet of smoke, blackberry, tar, cocoa, pepper and spice aromas. The palate was dense, dry and a bit astringent with flavors of blackberry, cocoa, burnt toast, pepper and spice.
