February 17, 2024 - Unique, port-like, somewhat sweet, and so so delicious. Like nothing else in Napa. Will last for decades to come!

October 17, 2023 - or 92? Agree with Fred below. Syrupy and sweet. Might be getting a little tired. I wish I had noticed the 17.2% in advance!

December 4, 2022 - Been hanging onto this for a while. I really struggle with higher alcohol these days, and also the palate weight and density on these wines. Yet, in the right context, even now for me, this can work. Had people over last night, my wife made a dark chocolate cake from scratch so it seemed like a good pairing to do the wine as a finisher, with her cake. Bottle lists the ABV at 17.2%, yet I don't smell that signature in the aroma. This remains a dark, inky, viscous kind of wine. It has a port-like impression and so you need to just know that's the way this is gonna show. By itself, I can't do more than a taste or so of this now but in a pairing context, the wine works great.

December 29, 2020 - Very pleasant, didn't wow (95) me as before. Still benefits from some air. Opaque, full bodied, dark blue/purple rich fruit. Teeth staining but smooth, fairly complex, big finish.

July 16, 2017 - incredibly ripe, young and concentrated with a viscosity approaching motor oil....tasty if not exactly my style
