  June 14, 2018 - A beautiful example of what Burgundy has to offer. Heady, complex, earthy nose of red fruit and a bit of barnyard. Rich fruit on the palate and a long finish. Wish I had more of this one.

  August 22, 2015 - Opening up nicely (had been in a shell previously as have most of my 99s - they've swapped places with the '02s which are finally showing something). Rich red fruit, hint of sandalwood and cow patch. Nice texture with good acidity which carries the red fruit core right through to a very nice finish. Had originally mixed this up with the boatload of their Corton Clos du Roi I bought when drastically marked down to $29 due to some "bottle variability". Those are emerging from an awkward stage as well. Great values still from picking amongst the wines made by the "old regime" here.

  March 11, 2012 - A recent purchase from a local store that claimed to purchase directly from the domain, one of the toughest Burgundies I had in a long while. The nose displays a little hint of raspberry and strawberry preserve intertwined with sous bois that I love from a fully matured burgundy. There is very little fruit but very noticeable harsh tannins. I am not optimistic that the fruit will remerge as tannins get soften. If you prefer the noticeable upfront fruit, this is not your cup of tea. This is a big contrast to the recent wines after the ownership change which are pure and prettier.
