Community Tasting Notes 10

January 9, 2018 - Based on other tasters notes and my husband's opinion on the bottle he opened over christmas holidays (I did not get to try that), I thought this one was going to be Dead on Arrival - the good news is that it just needs a lot of air. PnP - consumed over 4 nights and it was best on night 4. Day 1 - kind of a gloppy mess, but starting on Day 2 it pulled itself together and by last night was actually very tasty. I remember liking a savory element to this wine when tasting with the winemakers back in 2011 - this is what finally presented. The fruit and tannin started to come together and the acidity missing on day 1 came out of hiding. For the last bottle I will decant for a very long time prior to consumption.

  • Fullhouse Does not like this wine:

July 3, 2016 - This bottle lost everything that typically makes this wine special. It was like drinking a house wine at a mediocre resturant. Did not finish bottle. There was no 'there' there.

November 21, 2015 - A tasty Cab that had more jammy fruit and not much tannic structure to let it age too much longer.

  • Rich.Herbs Likes this wine:

April 20, 2015 - Similar to last tasting. Definitively more then ready to drink.

  • Rich.Herbs Likes this wine:

December 13, 2013 - Powerful, spicy, but maybe waning; I found the fruit a bit overripe, and the tannins too weak to support the fruit. This does not match my experience with this winemaker, so I assume this vintage is past its prime and should be consumed. Considering the drink dates from others at CT, this could be a bad bottle, but to be safe, I'm going to drink my remaining bottle soon.
