April 23, 2024 - Decanted for three hours in the morning, poured over dinner. Red fruit, blueberry, cherry, rose petal, truffle, tar, earth, iodine, marzipan, spices, and balsamic notes, with good acidity, partly resolved tannin, and great length of the balsamic and ethereal finish. Some VA. Good complexity, and great intensity. Ripe, and lightly alcoholic, but still makes you take sip after sip. Will not improve from here, but will not fall apart anytime soon either. Drink or hold.

March 16, 2024 - 3.5 hours slow Ox. Overripe and lush black cherries, vanilla creme, touches of red fruits, tar, and mushrooms. Relatively low acidity. Velvety smooth. 40 second finish. 2cm fill. Rock solid cork. No sediment. Color strong. This bottle had another 4+ years of peak drinking.

December 23, 2023 - Slow Ox for 7 hours, then 45 minutes in a decanter before going back into the bottle. Still young, but smooth. Red cherry fruits and flower petals on the nose with touches of tar. On the palate much the same but with a little dried herb as well. A wine that might improve, but perhaps not enough to change its score. I suspect this has at least another handful of prime drinking years ahead.

September 2, 2023 - Cherry, fennel, forest floor. A tad ripe. Much better after an hour opening. Not fading, but doubt it will improve

June 4, 2023 - Decanted briefly for sediment. Clear, med ruby-garnet. Med+ black cherry, red cherry, macerated strawberry, dried roses, balsam, forest floor, earth and subtle oak spice. Dry, w/ plenty of fruit left. Med+ acidity, med+ polished tannins and high but well-integrated alcohol. A big, intense, complex wine with plenty of life left at 22 years. Still, it's not likely to improve w/ further aging. WS 92 in 2005.
