November 16, 2023 - Bromley Wine Circle does Rioja - 16th November 2023: A little hint of coconut oak on the nose but in a measured way (compared to one the wines we were to taste later!), dark fruits, some grated dark milk chocolate and just a hint of clementine pith. Palate is rich, long and spicy. Lovely drop.

November 16, 2023 - Riojathon (London SW11): Served alongside a blind wine. Notable darker, richer. Some plumminess, deep raspberry. This is a proper wine. some depth coming through, with dried herbs on the nose. Another tangy and fresh finish with more length. Another ravishing wine and a lovely pair.

November 16, 2023 - Riojathon (South West London): More purple colour - still so fresh. Revealed as a 91 - this stuff just keeps going. A certain glossiness to it - stems? No rush to drink these if you have them but golly it’s a nice drop.

June 1, 2022 - Brick red colour, nicely mature wine. Old wood with a stemmy note on the nose, hints of orange peel. Some nice faded fruit within a coat of acidity. Very typical aged Rioja.
Wears its 30yrs well. Better on day two from ETO, so no great rush.

July 11, 2021 - Drank alongside the 2015 CVNE Imperial Reserva. The '91 is completely integrated and smooth. Dried fruits and pleasurable old cedar, vanilla, and brown spice. Delicate and softly spicy. A fine and welcoming wine if not an especially memorable one. Drinking at plateau and not even teasing decline for at least another five years. -2026 comfortably.
