Community Tasting Notes 3

June 3, 2013 - NobleRottersSydney - Random night (Verde, East Sydney): [cork, 14%] {Guest} This came out at the end. Aged nose, of peppermint, liquorice and vanilla. Rather soft and hollow palate of charcoal and vanilla flavours; has a slightly gritty texture. Medium-full bodied, and with a medium-length finish; there’s still a pretty high level of chalky tannins, but I think this is failing to convert age into complexity and needs to be drunk up.

January 20, 2010 - Nose of prunes, strawberries, coffee grounds and dirt. Fresh and luscious in the mouth - full flavoured blueberry, chocolate, orange, bonox and licorice with excellent balance and no sharp edges. Full flavoured although not much height. 60 second finish of licorice, blackberry and vegetable soup. On the second night became slightly unbalanced. I still think it hasn't peaked but I would rather try it at 10 years old than at 15. What a contrast to the 2001.

February 16, 2005 - Very nicely done at the price point. Nice fruity nose without a lot of complexity. Palate is smooth and fairly rich without any sharp edges. Relatively short finish.
