February 25, 2018 - Classy Cabernet, with cassis berry flavors, nice spice, and pleasant tannins that have softened a bit vs. two years ago, but that were just fine then, too. I think I enjoyed it a bit more then, but I suspect that is just my personal taste.

August 28, 2017 - Freshly picked new red fruits are first responders. Give it 20+ minutes to wake up then clove, mulling spices, anise and brown sugar emerge. Weighty and dense on the palate. Nice spiciness, good acidity and solid, lingering finish (if slightly sweet). Den Hoed makes fewer than 200 cases annually of Andreas with Gilles Nicault at the wheel as winemaker. Worth seeking out.

July 18, 2015 - We had this with Kobe Prime Rib on 7/18/15. It had a complex, layered and fragrant bouquet of smoke, cassis, black cherry, licorice, herb and spice aromas. The palate was rich and dense with flavors of black currant, black cherry, licorice, herb and spice. Our group’s average score was 93.75 points.

January 17, 2014 - wow, this is a very good wine. Popped and poured through venture into decanter. Probably sat for 30 minutes. At first, tame, but over time, really opened up. Nice dark color, nose, deep dark cherries, well integrated and not much acid left in this, so not sure of how much longer this will hold, but have 3 more bottles to find out! Very good.

February 7, 2013 - First experience with this wine - a real find. Drank along with a number of big CA cabs and old-school Bordeaux

Primary dark fruits, very smooth. Rhone characteristic of bacon/beef, smoke and earth. Would decant this one longer than we did, wine dissapeared quickly with this crowd. Excellent wine - and great QPR
