January 28, 2017 - a bit closed a the moment, youthful. dark fruits all over, medium-light body, would have expected a bit more power.

December 22, 2016 - A solid BdM. Well integrated tannins with notes of sour cherries, leather, tomatoes and a hint of cloves. Very well balanced with a clean finish.

September 3, 2016 - PnP. Great nose, Dark fruit, dark chocolate, coffee. Maybe a bit light on the back end at the two hour mark. I love this producer, and liked this wine, but I expected more considering the vintage. probably wouldn't hold these forever...

July 16, 2016 - It's been a little more than 7 months since my prior bottle (Jan 2016) and this particular bottle seemed a little bit further along in the aging process. Not quite as vibrant or complex, but still showing quite well. Blackfruit and floral on the nose, but not nearly as intense as the prior bottle. Black raspberry and black cherry upfront with lots of depth still behind. Acidity based tart notes in the background and through the finish, adding the hints of redfruit. Leather, tar, licorice and good tannic structure on the finish. I'll probably try another bottle in the fall, just to make sure this isn't aging more quickly than I thought. In any case, it's drinking so well right now, no real compelling reason to delay.

April 29, 2016 - Very good. Strong tar and roses aromas reminded me of barolo and barbaresco. Also displayed licorice, worn leather, tart cherry, and oregano. Relatively light bodied given the aromatics; there's no mistaking this for barolo in the mouth. Tannins were right to my tastes; not too hard, not too soft. Would drink now.
