April 29, 2016 - Very good. Strong tar and roses aromas reminded me of barolo and barbaresco. Also displayed licorice, worn leather, tart cherry, and oregano. Relatively light bodied given the aromatics; there's no mistaking this for barolo in the mouth. Tannins were right to my tastes; not too hard, not too soft. Would drink now.

April 10, 2016 - A typical luscious BdM. Wine Spectator went ga ga over this stuff, rating it a 97 and saying it was highly recommended and the highest rated of the vintage. It was good but not quite that good. Price wasn't bad though, in line with other BdMs.

March 27, 2016 - Really in a good spot. 3 hour decant. Paired with grilled lamb loin chops (with a garlic, rosemary, olive oil, balsamic marinade). Fantastic. First time pairing a Brunello with lamb. Will do again for sure.

March 26, 2016 - I'm going to drop a whopping 96 on this wine as it was a fantastic expression of the way wine should be made in Montlacino. We followed to very good Kosta Browne Pinot's with this bottle of match an exquisite dinner prepared by my lovely wife as our kids were home for Easter weekend with their spouse and girlfriend.
I opened this at 4pm and we started drinking it at 7pm. Huge nose of earth, spice, dark fruit and Yankee candle. Nice attack on the palate on a long, long finish as I'm typing this sentence I still can taste the last sip. This is why I rate Brunello as my favorite wine because when it hits the right notes it can't be beat.

March 16, 2016 - Opened and poured. A bit orange around the edges, it was very light to begin with. But an hour into the bottle, it tightened up and the tannins along with black and red fruit came out to play. Awesome minerality, this wine is liquid rocks. Needs lots of air.
