April 23, 2017 - Wow this is amazing. On open, an intoxicating nose of flowers, bushes, and sweet incense. Fruit a bit muted until the 20 min mark. On med-full bodied palate, currant and blackberries with a floral explosion after you swallow. Great balance of earth and fruit, with enough acidity for food. 30+ sec finish. Drink or hold.

March 18, 2017 - Prior bottle was just over eight months ago and this bottle showed slightly better. Blackfruit, floral and earth on the nose, but not nearly as intense as previously. Close to full bodied (14.5% ABV), but so round and elegant, it carries the weight easily. Retains nice brightness and vibrancy upfront which adds to the black raspberry, black cherry and deeper plum notes. Good acidity in the background, but felt a bit more integrated than previously. Finishes with tar, licorice, earth and minerals. Just enough tannic structure towards the back to support the fruit and provide overall length. Drank well upon opening, but as it was at cellar temperate, it got better and better over the course of four hours open as it warmed to room temp. This wine has a lot going for it: bright, pretty fruit with depth, good balancing notes and good overall structure. This is pretty close to peak, but based on the upfront brightness, structure on the backside and overall depth, may have room to improve just a touch more and should be able to hold this level for several years beyond. Next bottle in 2018.

January 28, 2017 - a bit closed a the moment, youthful. dark fruits all over, medium-light body, would have expected a bit more power.

December 22, 2016 - A solid BdM. Well integrated tannins with notes of sour cherries, leather, tomatoes and a hint of cloves. Very well balanced with a clean finish.

September 3, 2016 - PnP. Great nose, Dark fruit, dark chocolate, coffee. Maybe a bit light on the back end at the two hour mark. I love this producer, and liked this wine, but I expected more considering the vintage. probably wouldn't hold these forever...
