November 16, 2014 - We can now say whether the 96 point Wine Enthusiast rating was deserved. Having bought enough of this to cellar and having drunk it every year, the wine certainly has a fine balance, definite richness, and is thoroughly enjoyable, with no flaws. But, compared to top Chardonnays from Burgundy, California, South Africa, and New Zealand, it just does not make the top tier, where the wines are so irresistible that you look over at the empty bottle in disbelief and say "where did that go that fast?" Drunk with 6 other wines at the table many times, it never made the favorite of the evening either by itself or with food. What the 96+ wines have is a fireworks show with more layers of complexity, greater clarity of flavors, breathtaking drive and verve in the mouth, and a sharper spike of flavor when swallowed.

August 20, 2014 - A knockout. This still has plenty of primary fruit. Also delivers some beautiful smoky, spicy, and earthy notes. Great balance, and a long finish.

July 19, 2013 - Yellow/gold colour. Gorgeous nose of lemon curd backed up with a hint of caramel. Full body, mild acidity, smooth palate. Terrific balance allows the intensity of the flavours not to be overwhelming. Secondary nuances of age show up since the bottle I had last year. This is one of the few New World Chardonnays that merits longer term cellaring. Outstanding.
