April 11, 2024 - Of their wines, none are bad wines, this one came in 4th after Keltie, Griffin's Lair and Walker Vine Hill. All such great wines, and such a waste they couldn't be a part of the old vine movement.

November 7, 2023 - This wine is really drinking nicely now. It still has some forward tannins. The first nose wasn’t great but it really developed after five minutes in the glass. I think it would benefit from decanting for aeration and because of substantial sediment. This wine will keep drinking nicely for another few years. It’s very Pax-ish.

October 13, 2023 - Stored at 55 since direct purchase. Decanted for sediment. Ready from the start. Drinking really well. Nice pepper and savory aspects. Drink now.

September 10, 2022 - The 85 rating is quite strange. Sounded like the bottle had a flaw for sure. This wine is high velocity roasted fruitcake spices in your face from start to finish. Not over extracted like a lot of Syrahs that people are paying 3x the price for. Not jammy. This wine and the Donelan family let the grape do the talking. Pours a dark maroon to the glass with a slight dirty violet hue. Great acidic character up front, purple and black smoky red and black fruits with allspice, cumin and fire roasted plums and dates. Does not have the flabby unbalanced character that is quite popular. The fruit expressed with a nutty roasted pecan and black pepper finish. It was a bit tannic at first on the finish, but after an hour this went beautifully with mesquite smoked chicken and beef fajitas. This wine has structure and balance like the Marine corps. And if you have there, please don't hesitate to either let them sit another decade, but if you give this about 45 minutes you will be rewarded.

July 29, 2022 - Nice nose, smooth on the palate, but then turns into a tannic mess. Couldn't finish the bottle. Will age my next bottle a couple more years. (Enjoyed several Pax Cuvee Christines in the past, definite change...)
