March 25, 2023 - 64% Syrah/36% Mourvedre. After 13/14 years still a savory beast. Black raspberry, blueberry, and dark cherry fruit. Big, thick wine with a core of cedar, sage, tar, and black licorice. The Mourvedre really shines here with dense earth and a gamey characteristic to it on the mid-palate. Soft tannins at this point but a delicious long finish.

February 1, 2020 - From magnum. Just an amazing example of a syrah blend. Smoky and spicy with a soft caressing mouthfeel. Just great!

January 24, 2020 - Outstanding Paso Robles syrah blend, drinking beautifully at 11 years. Vibrant, dark cranberry and dried plum, with a smooth, tannic mid-palette and long, black cherry finish. Very nice wine, with good years still ahead. Syrah 64% Mourvedre 36%

November 2, 2019 - Still quite good but would have been better a few years ago.

May 27, 2019 - See my prior notes of 5-6-2019.

In memory of LCDR Larry “Mike” Jordan, a fellow U.S. Navy serviceman during the Vietnam War. Mike was returning to the USS Kitty Hawk from the Philippines when his aircraft, a KA3B aerial tanker, was purportedly shot down on April 12, 1966. His name is listed on The Vietnam Veterans Memorial, PANEL 6E LINE 106.
