March 5, 2014 - Fresh and fruity stile, but seems a bit diluted and lacking in several departments. Disappointing.

January 9, 2014 - Very pale yellow, crystal clear. Lots of up front fruit, lemons, oranges, pineapple, maybe a slight hint of cinnamon. Rich and mouth filling. Finishes crisp and fruity. 9.5% ABV. Screw cap. I love Rheingau Wines!

October 23, 2013 - Wonderful bottle, but oh so youthful and unevolved. Lots of tart apples, pear and hints of salinity. A bit of spritz and ample acidity. This needs time.

September 2, 2013 - Pale lemon gold in the glass with a fine watery rim and pale green highlights.
Pronounced nose of green apple, perhaps some watered down honey, and a barely detectable minerality along with some trademark petrol.
Silky smooth and soft upon entry, the acid is noticeable up front. Tastes like the best apple "jolly rancher" candy from my childhood ever. Not tropical in the least, the sweet apple gives way to wet stone with a saline finish that causes the sweetness to drop away as the acid takes over. A nice stony finish that persists for at least 30 seconds with the acid felt along the gums and in the back of the throat.
Paired with prosciutto and melon, this wine definitely outperformed the nominal fee for the bottle.
    Delicious, addictive, and 8.5% alcohol.

June 26, 2013 - Aromas of wet stone and lime. Nicely balanced flavors of apple and citrus that develop a juicy ripe lime note on the mid palate. A touch of honey adds richness.

(Leitz Rüdesheimer Klosterlay Riesling Kabinett) ($23.00) No doubt whatsoever, this is the best vintage I’ve tasted of this wine. Another level of depth and penetration and saltiness.
