Community Tasting Notes 2

April 26, 2011 - Pre-Concert Dinner at Aria (Aria Restaurant, Sydney): Decent. Nice nose - floral notes, mineral, earth, touches of bramble, sweet red fruits - cherries and berries - with a sprinkle of spice and bramble. Almost Burg-like until the sweetness hits you. The palate was ripe and round, simple red fruit flavours, perfumy florals, a bit confected, with a bit of orange candy flavours but with some nicely judged acidity. It was just a bit short and hot at the finish with some wood spice. Drinkable but not much else.

December 31, 2010 - Taste of Tasmania 10/11 (Hobart): {screwcap, A$22} Soft red-berry fruit nose. Yeah, pinot I guess. The palate is gently dusty – not actually tannic, just a little under-fruited – with a tang of spice and red berries that all fades pretty quickly. Even at this price you could do better.
