May 7, 2022 - Heavy, flabby and a bit cloying. Some interesting flavors that are overpowered by the weight of the alcohol. Quite OK to drink now but I'm not really sure what I'd drink it with and it's too heavy by itself.

Fairly intense nose that suggests it's a bit past it's use by date. Black pepper, leather and cloves dominate.

Full bodied with a very viscous mouthfeel, a bit of acid and basically no tannin left. Very alcoholic. Flavor is a bit better than the nose with a dollop of very ripe black plum along with the pepper etc. Not much flavor on the finish, just a long reminder that you shouldn't be drinking after 2 glasses.

May 29, 2021 - Drank this after a 2008 Moore "Earthquake" Vineyard. Cedarman was not quite as good as the Moore but was still a fine bottle of Zin. Slightly more acidic, but became jammier over time. Crazy high ABV but smooth and not hot.

Fairly deep ruby with a garnet rim.
Tart nose, my first thought was an older Chianti.
Rather tart and lean initially with quite a bit of acidity, I had a hard time placing Zinfandel at first.
With an hour this sweetens up just a bit, but still quite lean, but elegant, a term I’ve never used in a Turley note.

This is quite nice, more interesting than delicious.
And serves to show the aging potential of some zins... orange peel, iced tea flavors.

November 15, 2018 - Opened this about two hours before dinner yesterday. Initial nose reminded me of many over extracted alcoholic wines. Waited a total of threes hours before tasting. Very impressive. The high alcohol nose had diminished substantially and the dark fruits were very engaging.
I finished the remaining half of the bottle tonight and this is even better. The alcohol is unnoticeable on the nose. Taste is smooth, elegant dark fruits and some earthy elements.
If I had another bottle, my preference would be to open and decant at least five hours prior to serving.
