January 6, 2024 - Dinner with Friends (R&R's): Light ruby color. Notes of fig, cherry, currants, plum and spice. The palate follows the bouquet. Balanced, with plenty of fruit for the structure and alc. While both wines paired well with the crisp, I preferred this by a slim margin. A lovely wine, drinking rather well at the moment. This had been decanted roughly eight (+/-) hours before it was served (the exact time was "halftime of the Badgers game"). I guessed '92 Fonseca. (R&D)

November 23, 2023 - By the glass. Delicious on the nose with that nobility of a classical complexity, imagining Corinthian columns. Good sweet texture, as always very elegant with also a very well integrated tannins. Depth at each sip. Here there is not space for 'bulk fruit'.

October 21, 2023 - 4th Saturday Uptown Brown Bagger (MM's): Cherry, licorice, currants and white raisin qualities. Nicely integrated and balanced at this stage. Lovely red berry fruit and spice on the palate. Drinking very nicely at the moment. (R&D)

December 30, 2022 - Deep dark reddish-purple in color with little signs of aging. Full, forward & fragrant nose of ripe fruit aromas of dark cherries, blackberries, raisins & dried figs with overtones of spices & earthy notes, minerals, cocoa, coffee & cedar in the background. Full bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, jammy, ripe fruit flavors of blackberries, dark cherries, dried figs & raisins with spices, cocoa, minerals & a hint of vanilla. Long lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present with decanting & extended airing. Even at 31 years of age, it should continue to develop further with additional aging & perhaps score higher (92+). Cork was clean & intact upon opening.

November 18, 2022 - FTLOP 17th Anniversary; 11/18/2022-11/20/2022 (Seattle, Washington): Amber-purple in color. Nose of blueberry, bramble fruits, mint, mushroom, herbs. Rich mouthfeel with a touch of acidity. Great cassis and dark fruit notes on the palate, with firm tannins. Very long finish with cassis, Bramble fruits, and chocolate.
