May 13, 2018 - Based on a bottle opened and tasted for 5 days. Though 11 years old, still opaque with a very narrow lighter ring at the edge. The nose features black plum, lavender, and black cherry. The sip is smooth and fruity, with refreshing acidity and still drying tannin. The main evolution of the wine from the taste on the first day is how the acid/tannin structure replaces a light sugar sweetness and dominates the swallow and finish, making this Napa wine closer to a Bordeaux. Overall, a fine and ageworthy Napa Cabernet Sauvignon that is a best value in the low $20 range.
