December 27, 2020 - PJA's entry level C-H at £11.50/ $14 on purchase in 2011. Deep purple with some orange on rim, dark fruit - plum / damson / blackberry with faint spices on nose. Initially closed palate with long firm tannins and good length. Opened up to more intriguing tastes with tobacco, tar etc and the fruit becoming sweeter. Pretty good for price, not as complex as PJA's Thalabert.

December 1, 2016 - In a decent window currently. Integrated. Classic Crozes nose which is open and enticing, but does not match the wine itself which delivers enjoyment but is one dimensional lacking requisite depth and intensity.

September 1, 2016 - Rich very dark purple, no sign of ageing. Nose of coffee, barnyard, plums and sultanas. Smooth but still some tannic bite, full in the mouth, sloes tobacco and leather.

July 22, 2016 - The wine is clear and medium garnet in colour.
The nose is clean with medium (+) intensity aromas of black fruit (bramble, black cherry), dried fruit (fig, prune), oak (vanilla, smoke), tertiary (leather, game, Earth). The wine is developing.
The palate is dry with medium (+) acidity, medium (+) ripe tannins, medium (+) alcohol, medium (+) body, medium (+) intensity flavours similar to nose. The finish is medium (+) length.
The wine is very good quality, lacking only concentration to be outstanding.
The wine can be drunk now but is suitable for further ageing (3 years). It has the acid and tannins structure and concentration of fruit to allow further development of tertiary flavours.
