Community Tasting Notes 5

April 12, 2020 - Good but not GC as noted. Some spice, red currant and dark fruit with a medicinal note. Increasing tannic grip following a 2 hr decant.

November 18, 2016 - Opened and decanted at least 3 hours before meal. At first was still very austere and somewhat "closed". It was only with the cheese course that it was starting to fully reveal itself. Then it was smoother and very good, albeit a little disappointing for an (expensive) 10 year old Corton

January 9, 2015 - Discreet wine, really well balanced and nose is pleasantly complex w flintsmoke, dark fruits and intriguing leathery-peppery notes. Palate is seamlessly integrated and the wine does not surprise, but w a meal it really works. Subtle, nuanced, everything you look for in a wine (including an acidity that works well w fattier foods, enjoyable hints of maturity w a nice body of fruitiness intact). I enjoyed the smokiness.

December 20, 2014 - A couple of more years in the cellar will do this wine good. It shows of a lot though, both in scent and taste.

September 6, 2014 - New wood and green medicinal herbs on the nose, cherries, with some tobacco and Christmas spices together with earth.
The palate is rather similar to the nose, with cherries, Christmas spices, wood and some herbs and earthiness.
Not really Grand Cru weight in this bottle, rather like a decent 1:er Cru, and not enough stuffing present.
