December 25, 2021 - decanted off sediment 30 minutes before drinking. Super tight still. An hour later some classic Bordeaux style notes start to emerge with sour cherry, wood, and a bit of leather. Somehow the old vines makes this bottle still a baby.

October 24, 2021 - Still aging at a glacial pace, but no less enjoyable! One left and I think (know) my impatience and absence of will power will easily win out over my desire to see what this is like at age 20 or older. The more bottles I open from my stash of Bedrock reds from the early years the more I'm convinced they will drink well for a second and maybe a third generation.

August 26, 2021 - Gorgeous wine drinking at a good place. Cassis, herbs, cedar and tobacco leaf. Old school wine, but with plump, bright fruit. Quite drinkable with a bit of a decant, but the tannins are still noticeable. This could go for another decade... at least.

March 22, 2021 - I just received some Bedrock '19 Sonoma Cabs, so I wanted to check in on one of their early experiments with Bordeaux varietals. I'm not that I would call this as a BDX blend if tasted blind, as it shows more the mark of the winemaker than the varietals. It is unmistakably a Bedrock wine. Rich and complex, but balanced, and very much transparent to its terroir. The nose shows a lot of mineral and blackberry, with savory herbal notes of eucalyptus and bay leaf, and some anise. It still has a lot of grip with a chewy midpalate and some mild but rustic tannins on the back end, but I think this is in a pretty good place in terms of its drinking window. I believe Morgan called this an "old school CA cab" and I don't doubt that this will last a while. But it is still a rather forward wine, and I'm not sure it's made in the same style as those classic '70s cabs (which, admittedly, this whippersnapper never drank in their relative youth). Delicious, and very easy drinking, as this bottle did not last the night.

June 9, 2019 - Deep garnet showing no sign of aging. Nose of black raspberry and black plum, hint of ash. Palate is lighter than expected with a bit of greenness and notes of tray cherry, red currants. Finish is long and smooth with mellow tannins and a “Sweet Tart” element. Still expresses as youthful.
