February 2, 2024 - Subsequent notes of this wine from 6 years ago. Medium-deep reddish-purple in color with no signs of aging. Full, fragrant & attractive nose of ripe fruit aromas of cherries, blackberries & plums with overtones of floral & earthy/dusty notes, spices, tobacco, leather, some cocoa, mushrooms, minerals, smoky & hints of cedar & balsamic notes in the background. Medium-full bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of cherries, boysenberries & plums with spices, herbs, some cocoa, minerals & oak/vanilla. Drinks quite well at present with decanting & airing but at 18 years of age, it is close to or at its peak of development. Although it should hold here for several more years, I doubt any further development would occur from additional aging.

April 3, 2022 - Drinking really well. Have a bunch of wines last night, so specific notes are lost in the ether of the evening. Cheers.

January 10, 2022 - Cherry and bandaid on the nose. On the palate, black cherry, raspberry, and notes of bitter tobacco, earthy spice, and strawberry on the medium to long finish, with light tannins and strong acidity. This is somewhere in the middle of its drinking window, with several good years ahead of it; the Cellartracker drinking window is at least a few years too short. This was an excellent value at about $40.
