Community Tasting Notes 6

November 23, 2013 - Would have been a better wine 6mo - 1yr ago. Just opened one of a half dozen, stored in a cellar less than 60 deg, and not corked, but overdone for the inherent ability of this wine to cellar. Notes of vinegar, never a good sign..

February 25, 2013 - Massive sediment, notes of TCA, very tannic for this varietal.

January 16, 2013 - Translucent ruby robe. Under-ripe cherry and brush dominate at PnP. Intensely sour cherry with some smokey, tarry phenolics. Rough finish - very tart and sour, tannins sharp. 79/C = 50/4/8/5/6/6

March 5, 2012 - Intensely Earth driven nose, with sour cherry palate, excellent length

March 1, 2012 - A meaty and barnyard-y nose reminiscent of some syrahs. Very intriguing. Concentrated mouth feel that could use more time to open up. Still a powerful and enjoyable glass of wine going beyond "Spanish" expectations. Going to revisit after a day of air.
