April 25, 2015 - Nose of blackberry, tar, chocolate, stews prunes. Taste of tar, blackberry and chocolate. Served with buffalo pie, rice and green beans. A balanced, smooth wine with very gentle tannins with deep black fruit flavours. Have to go back to Lytton Springs to buy another bottle.1 person found this helpful Comment

March 2, 2015 - Big. Lots of fruit. Lots of tannins. Reasonable acidity. Better after several days than on first opening. Long life ahead.

April 15, 2014 - Black pepper nose and flavors of spice, dark fruit and pepper. The flavors are good, but seems just a bit thin. There are really great tannins, at least "she" thinks so.

February 8, 2014 - Much better. Tanins settling down. Shows promise. Could be quite nice in another year.

January 1, 2014 - ABV 15.2; deep earth and barrel nose; dirt, deep primary mixed dark fruit with some sweetness as well, prominent tannins; big and primary with good typicity; didn't really notice any heat; i liked it, but marilyn likened it to a barrel sample. worked with pizza but didn't really complement the food; ultimately polished off with cheese and nuts; seems to need plenty of time.
