January 18, 2012 - I think this seems like a great example of varietal, and decent price. Now 5 yrs old and drinking fine. Nice nose of earth/oak and fruit. Palate is medium bodied, full of nice mix of light and dark cherry fruit. Complex with transition to some smoke, brambly fruit. Nice drinking now without food and with a variety of fare.

May 1, 2011 - A very nice Barbera from Cascina Adelaide. Opened 1 hour in advance

    Color: ruby red, intense
Nose: quite spicy opening, tar, lquorice, sweet wood
Mout: solid acidity, refreshing, tannins well present

It can make an extra step when the wood will integrate more... in a year or so in bottle.
