September 21, 2018 - Filling in w/the Friday Brown Bag Group (Ron's): Double blind. Aromas of chocolate, dark fruit and pepper with a nice underlying earthy funk. Plum and riper dark fruit on the palate with a lengthy finish. Medium tannins. Nice fruit. Develops a subtle meaty note.

December 25, 2016 - Loved this wine. Full bodied and very smooth.

August 16, 2016 - Tight and tannic. Needs a lot more time decanting than I gave it and probably a couple more years in the bottle.

May 25, 2015 - Not sure what past reviews are seeing in this wine. The bottle I'm drinking is clearly not flawed but also not layered with flavors. Had with smoked lamb neck. Bouquet over shadowed the short lived sweet syrah palate. Not in the same league of top WA syrahs IMOHO. Getting zero funk!

May 9, 2015 - Awesome Syrah. Probably the best I've ever had. Smoky, with fruit and nice tannins. Went great with smoked ribs.

(Sleight of Hand Cellars Funkadelic Syrah Walla Walla Valley) Aromas jump from the glass of earth, funk, mineral, black olive juice, ash, game, and a whiff of orange peel. A thoroughly delicious, delectable wine that shows the Rocks district of the Walla Walla Valley perfectly. 100% Syrah. The Funk Vineyard. Aged 11 months in French oak (25% new). 13.9% alcohol. 95 cases produced.
