Community Tasting Notes 3

August 30, 2012 - {screwcap} Youthful aromas of blood plums, dark chocolate and seductive tobacco. These present as flavours too, spiced with cured meats and pastrami. The palate is quite smoothly-textured, with medium, natural-feeling acid, soft but fine tannins, light-medium weight and a medium length finish. The flavours are slightly more interesting than the structure at the moment, and certainly blur the line between New and Old worlds; but overall I think this might be better in the shorter term (3-5 years). Tidy wine.

August 1, 2012 - Peter Bourne- 3 island Pinot Noir Taste off (Sydney): Colour: Pale, ruby, clear, legs
Nose: medium intensity, clean, developing, slight farm yard funk, black fruit with notes of beetroot, rubbery, leather, toast, sweet, spice.
Mouth: medium plus acid, medium body, medium flavour intensity, medium in minus tannin that is supply and silky, medium alcohol. Dry. Blackberry fruit, sweet spice – cloves and cinnamon, cedar and a medium plus length
    Nice, well balanced

April 9, 2011 - Burghound in Asia Grand Tasting (St. Regis Hotel, Singapore): Decent, but really too young and primary to gauge well. The nose was very nice - perfumed, musky, with flowers nestling alongside red cherry scents and dusty earth. The palate was rather simpler - very primary cherries along with little hints of spice, bramble and mint at the finish. Charming, high-toned stuff, decently balanced, but needs some time.
