Community Tasting Notes 4

January 3, 2016 - This wine is deep orange in color, although I guess it could also be described as bright, clear, deep gold with copper hues. I tasted it before the 2007 Verduzzo and I liked the latter a lot more. The Carat's nose was more oxidized and less complex. Likewise, its palate was drier and less complex. Since the two bottles had the same provenance, I don't think this was an off bottle (there was nothing wrong with the cork). So my best guess is that the Carat should be drunk sooner rather than later, and that it may now be a little past its prime.

June 2, 2014 - Fantastic wine. Gorgeous honey yellow hue with a big, earth bouquet. Fantastic depth and pristine fruit with a long and elegant finish. A wine with soul.
