July 3, 2014 - Robin Visit for lunch (Elgin Valley): The Masi Amarone from 1997 has more to it than the previous vintages, but it is still lacking in fruit. What remains is some super ripe notes of dried fruits, resolved but present tannins yet all tinged with a slight oxidation.

January 30, 2006 - This is the first time I have not liked an Amarone. I gave it plenty of decanter time and refused to get better. Thin, green, bitter, not what I was looking for.
