November 18, 2020 - Drinking great right now !! The patient collector will be rewarded !! The composite cork was perfect after a decade in the bottle. Consumed over two days. Fruit burst on the first day, very lively and a great complement to pizza. On day two this balanced wine really shined; it had softened with increased depth and integrated complexity. Medium ruby color with no oxidation, clarity medium. Aromas of pomegranate and blackberry. Flavors of black cherry, plum, and fig. About 5% of this Sangiovese was dried appassimento style and recombined in the final blend with a small portion of Merlot. This delicious wine has a long to medium finish and is balanced & flavorful. This age worthy wine has more years of life left, I have 3 bottle remaining and will visit again soon. A great Alisos Vineyard fruit source and a great winemaking effort from Steve Clifton who has been making this stylistic wine since 1995.

August 31, 2016 - Last bottle. Perfect to balance out richness of braised oxtail ragu.

May 10, 2015 - Consistently lovely, perfect food wine especially for tomato-based braises and pasta sauces.

July 9, 2014 - Drank beautifully with braised short ribs. Unctuous, rich fruit with sufficient acid to complement beef and olive oil's richness.

December 16, 2012 - Similar to last time. All guests enjoyed this one, good on it's own, paired nicely against a deep, rich ragu.
