Community Tasting Notes 2

November 6, 2022 - My first ever bottle of Madame Bizet-Leroy’s wine. I too experienced the clay underneath the foil, like the previous note mentioned. Initially, I thought it was mold, but there were no other signs of storage issues, and ultimately it didn’t seem to affect the wine.

Decanted for an hour and consumed over three. As time passed, there was a progressive explosion of black currant, violets, a hint of truffle, cinnamon spice, and freshly tilled soil. Seductive, it compels you to come back for another sip with a svelte body and luxurious mouthfeel. The balance here is seamless, and the finish is lengthy. An excellent village level wine from a clearly exceptional producer, despite being crafted from purchased grapes. The care and attention paid to blending this wine really shows.

June 3, 2018 - Clay under foil. Lots of it. Very odd. Anyway it had no impact on wine.

    Typical cloudy Leroy. No bricking.

Very sweet cherry almost strawberry fruit on opening. After an hour the acid came out and balance was better.

Delicious. Fine grained tannins. Weighty. Long finish.
