June 13, 2023 - This wine had been in a cool cellar since release. The cork was excellent and came out well. Decayed with very small amount of sediment. The wine was still quite full and deep in color with barely a bit of warmer color. The red was still very deep. The nose was huge. Nice leather and tobacco. Lush mouth feel. Taste was consistent with the bouquet. It is red wine perfection in so many ways. With many wines of higher pedigree than this 3rd growth, this wine would stand up against those loftier labels nicely. The Margaux lushness is there but less so the lilac and violet notes that come along with many Margaux wines.

June 2, 2023 - Excellent wine. This 1999 is exceptional. soft and very well balanced. At its prime.

October 2, 2022 - 9th and 10th of 12, decanted an hour, perfect cork and level, fully mature and with a bit more nuance than last bottle in '20, indeed preferred by some to less mature Duhart-Milon 01, still tad short for me and with herby edge which others might prefer to me, no upside but no rush. VGI (17).
