February 13, 2015 - Dark, cloudy inky red. Blueberry, nutmeg, and cola nose. Medium to full bodied, blackberries, chocolate covered cherries, spices, well integrated dusty tannins, sage, a bit of heat, and a medium plus, tangy finish. Better on day 1, so drink up.

November 11, 2014 - I love the idea of this blend. But it was too ripe, raisiny/pruny, heavy and unbalanced. I think the effort here was for a super ripe, rich wine. Not for finesse. I understand that this style is preferred by many and is produced to get higher ratings. Thankfully the trend is moving away from this style and hopefully we can have a bit more restraint in future bottlings.

September 26, 2014 - Decanted over an hour.
Showing well with moderate+ intensity aromas that come across sauvage. Wild dark berries of blackberry, boysenberry and blueberry aromas with bramble and plum skins with hints of vanilla, spice, black licorice, baking chocolate and sage.
On the palate fruit, acid and alcohol are balanced with a smooth, full mouthfeel. Rich fruit notes incorporate blueberry, boysenberry and blackberry with stewed plum, violets, vanilla, baking spice, sage, oak, and melted black licorice. Tannins are ripe and plush while the finish is moderate in intensity and length.
Overall very approachable and friendly, dark and plush.

September 26, 2012 - Rich dark fruit, dark chocolate, vanilla and oak on the nose. Midpalate is medium/full body texture, finish is nice mix of dark tart fruit, pepper, a touch of meat and vanilla and oak on the finish. Nice for the price point.

Consumed at at cellar temp: 60°-65° F. Friends don't let friends drink red wine at room temp!

September 22, 2012 - Pretty boring, maybe that's why Jeff Cohn is making this available at Costco - not his best work by far
