Community Tasting Notes 9

July 17, 2021 - In the glass, rather significant bricking, turning amber/orange at the rim. On the nose, aging gracefully, dried cherry, orange peel, decaying foliage, fresh tilled soil. On the palate, still quite structured, replaying some similar notes from the nose, cherry preserves, mineral, blood orange, finishing very long, but the drying tannins start to clip the finish. At peak, or in decline. Overall, this seems to be drying out and would be best consumed in the near term.

April 19, 2013 - A great, deep, complex nose. Cherries macerated in alcohol. Even somewhat reminiscent of a Madeira. In the mouth, long, no edges, soooo satisfying. Still has years ahead.

May 21, 2012 - This took a long time in the glass to give anything. Very subtle flavours of cherry and oak if you looked very hard for them. Disappointing.

December 26, 2010 - Lovely color and smell but a touch disappointing compared to the 85 enjoyed 24h earlier

August 31, 2007 - wow what at wine at Bern's off the list $125.00 or so. Popped and poured no need for a decant. Rich full and ripe dark red fruit and mushroom, wonderful nose of spice clove and earth . really enjoyable seemed so young.

(Bouchard Père et Fils Beaune 1er Cru Grèves Vigne de L'Enfant Jesus) Bricked medium ruby color; mature, sweet beef jus, light soy sauce, vanilla, barbecue sauce nose; maturing yet still a little tight, ripe raspberry, vanilla, graham cracker palate; medium-plus finish 92+ points
