September 29, 2018 - Acid city. Luckily this was served with a cheese course so it was tolerable. On its own this might not be good at all. Acid out of balance. Lacking fruit. Comes off a tad but harsh. The 01 Clos des Lambrays in the next glass is putting this to shame. Unlikely this ever straightens out and comes into balance. Drink now with fatty foods to absorb the abundance of acid.

April 9, 2017 - medium garnet color with scarlet rim. Nose is a mix of stewed cherry/plum, hint of truffle and mocha, with nice complexity. On the palate red fruit that is overpowered by a searing acidity. This wine begs for rich food, and paired well with a roasted chicken which balanced out the acidity. Without food, the acidity is overpowering for me.

April 16, 2016 - challenging to get my head around this wine - difficult to determine this was a pinot. Not that it was too old, but It would likely have been better five-ten years ago.

May 31, 2015 - Medium garnet core, pale mahogany rim. Nose at first a touch surly, but opens quite quickly to show plum and dark cherry fruit, rich earth and undergrowth, touch of iron, some sweet raspberry coming through too. Medium/full bodied, attractively savoury dark fruit, soil, some sweetness too, vibrant acidity carrying a very good length finish with a touch of dusty tannin still showing. Excellent, certainly drinking, but absolutely no hurry.

September 5, 2013 - Surprisingly approachable given producer and vintage, especially after getting some air.

Not the most exuberant of burgs: more on the rustic side. The acid touch of 1996 makes it a more vibrant wine than you'd normally expect from Faiveley. Still, dark fruits dominate. Long.
