August 1, 2014 - Deep and dense. Good plum, chocolate and pepper nose that follows through to palate. Lovely structure — drunk from opening, but a decant wouldn't have hurt. Maybe a little overpriced (CHF70), but very decent. ****

June 4, 2014 - Yes, excellent. Caprili always delivers. The 2006 has what one would expect from the vintage. Great structure, strong fruit. Drink now or hold. At this point, and probably forever, better than the 2007.

March 24, 2014 - Classic expression of Brunello with tart cherry, leather, and sandalwood on the nose. On the palate, the tart cherry and leather remain but the sandalwood gives way to luscious dark chocolate and espresso, and those notes remain through a medium-ish, silky smooth finish.

This 2006 was a bit more mature than I expected, especially given that the 2004's from Caprili are still showing fairly young. This has the structure to continue to improve for several years, but especially with some protein to balance the tannins, it's drinking beautifully right now. I decanted for two hours, served with some beautiful lamb chops I picked up at the Portland Farmer's Market, and life was good.

January 4, 2014 - Very young. Initially very high acidity and quite close. Opened up after one hour. Drunk over 2 days. Much better experience in day 2 with nice cherries, rose aromas, well integrated oak and delicate species. A lot of elegance. Need time. Drink in 5-8 years

March 17, 2013 - Was quite impressed with this wine. Good structure, depth and complexity. Medium body. Burgundy color in the glass. Definitely leather and wood as others have noted, also some dusty / earthy qualities. Mature fruit. Balanced tannins.

    Great value, would highly recommend.
