October 5, 2021 - A bit hot. Fruit is beginning to fade, and not a whole lot of secondary there there, so drink up. Should have drank this 8-10 years ago probably.

October 12, 2015 - Great fruit and balance. Paired great with chicken. '09 was a very good vintage for Rhone style wines in CA. It was a crowd pleaser.

January 28, 2015 - Kind of a jumble of a wine right now. Alcohol sticking out, fruit still banging the drum, bottle development hiding in the corner. Still has the pieces to come together with more time... maybe.

June 6, 2014 - I don't understand the notes labeling this wine as thin - this is pretty big CA grenache. Man, these wines take forever to get past their youthful exuberance phase. Only just now at at 5 years old is the big strawberry and blueberry fruit starting to pull back to reveal some of the herbal and earthy aspects. Nice out of the bottle, better after an hour or so. Surprisingly, the last glass on day two totally falls apart into a port-y mess. No idea where this is in its evolution...

January 21, 2014 - Delicious red fruit, well-balanced, long-lingering finish (cocoa, red fruit). Very good. Unique. Drinking perfectly out of the bottle, no need to decant.
